What does this collection include?
These are 31 beaches and lake shores listed in the EPA bathing water data for County Cork. 13 are designated as identified bathing waters. This is a different collection from the wider mapped beach directory, and the two totals should not be added together.
Does excellent water quality mean it is safe to swim today?
No. An annual classification is based on past sampling, usually across four years. It is not a live water quality reading. Check the location’s current EPA or local authority notices and signs at the beach before swimming.
What do the awards and facilities tell me?
Blue Flag, Green Coast and facility filters use the records held here. They do not confirm an award for a new season or that a service is operating today. Lifeguard cover can be seasonal or limited to certain hours. Each location’s page carries the details available.
Why are some details missing?
Some listed locations have no annual classification, and facilities are not recorded for every place. Missing information is left unknown. It does not mean a facility is unavailable.
