Dublin Festival of History 2026

Just over a fortnight of talks, panels and seminars run by Dublin City Council across its libraries and a few larger rooms. Everything is free. The council says the programme and tickets went live on 27 August, and Visit Dublin says advance booking is recommended rather than required, which is not the same thing and is why this page says the second.

Programme
The council sets out a Big Weekend at the start: talks, panel discussions and seminars on Saturday 26 September at Richmond Barracks, Pearse Street Library, Central Library, Cabra Library and Coolock Library, and events on Sunday 27 September in the Round Room at the Mansion House. A European History Day follows on Sunday 11 October at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.
