About the event

The programme places Prokofiev’s First String Quartet beside Webern’s Langsamer Satz, Aloys Fleischmann’s Quartet Movement and Ginastera’s First String Quartet. The Cork connection comes through Fleischmann, while Ginastera’s writing brings rhythms rooted in Argentinian folk music.
