The story behind Ferns Castle
The thirteenth-century castle retains only part of its original square plan. Its towers and vaulted chapel nevertheless preserve enough to imagine a substantial fortified residence. The story connects Ferns with the changes in power that followed the Anglo-Norman arrival.
