The story behind Parke’s Castle
Robert Parke’s early seventeenth-century residence incorporated the site of an earlier O’Rourke tower house. The courtyard makes the two histories easier to distinguish. Restoration using Irish oak gives the interior a different character from a roofless ruin.

Seasonal admission
The 2026 season runs from 14 March to 1 November and adult admission is €5. The current daytime schedule lists 10:00 to 18:00; confirm shorter late-season hours before travelling. Parking is available and OPW describes ground-floor wheelchair access.
